Job summary

NHS Lanarkshire is seeking a Paediatric Diabetes Nurse Specialist within Integrated Community Children's Nursing Service to lead a specialist team across hospital and community settings.

The post requires a Registered Sick Children's Nurse with valid NMC registration, a degree-level education and postgraduate expertise in the specialty, with a strong evidence-based practice approach to improve patient care.

Qualifications

• Registered Sick Children’s Nurse with valid NMC Registration.
• Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level.
• Postgraduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge.
• Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and delegate appropriate caseload work, to members of the multi-disciplinary team.
• Utilisation of research material and evidence based practice, to inform and underpin further service development.
• Provision of specialist nursing advice, to the relevant managed clinical networks.
• Maintain an ongoing contribution to Health Improvement activities in terms of the specialism.
