Job summary

Routes Healthcare (North) Limited is seeking a Paediatric Complex Care Assistant for a young child in Stanley, County Durham. The role involves 12-hour day and night shifts with guaranteed hours after probation, and full training with 24/7 clinical support.

Qualifications

• Experience caring for babies or young children in a paid role or placement.
• At least 6 months UK care experience.
• Moving and handling experience.
• Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship).
• Desirable: paediatric complex care experience; tracheostomy or ventilation experience; NVQ Level 2/3 or ongoing studies.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one care with dignity and compassion according to the child’s care plan and risk assessments.
• Carry out tracheostomy and ventilator care, clinical observations and medication administration (full training provided).
• Support personal care, moving and handling, and daily routines.
• Keep accurate, up-to-date care records.
• Work closely with the family, healthcare professionals and the wider care team.
