Job summary

Kepak St. Merryn in Merthyr Tydfil is recruiting Packing Operatives for the Beef Boning Departments. The role is full-time, on-site, with early start times and a variable finish depending on production, at £12.90 per hour.

You will work as part of a team packing Beef and Lamb, with heavy lifting and PPE provided. The site offers extensive benefits including 31 days’ leave, pension, death in service, cycle to work, gym discounts, and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in meat processing environment preferred.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling.
• Availability to start immediately.

Responsibilities

• Pack meat into boxes/packaging as required.
• Work as part of a team to maintain daily production targets.
• Handle raw beef or lamb with care and accuracy.
• Carry out heavy lifting and moving packs around the factory.
• Use provided PPE and adhere to health and safety rules.

We offer beef and lamb products ranging from retail ready cuts for butchers' counters to branded packaged meat, all as part of our service; raised on open pastures, sourced from local farmers and hand-selected by our master butchers, we produce beef and lamb products with integrity and unmatched quality assurance.

We are currently recruiting for Packing Operatives to work in our busy Beef Boning Departments on site in Merthyr Tydfil.

This is a full time, permanent position working 5.30am/6.00am with a variable production finish depending on production numbers that day - Monday to Friday with a salary of £12.90 per hour.

Job Description

• Working proficiently as part of a team to ensure the daily planned production is maintained
• Packing meat in to the relevant boxes/packaging required
• Handling raw Beef or Lamb
• Heavy lifting and moving heavy items is involved in this role
• Moving the packs to different parts of the factory
• Full PPE provided
