Packing and Despatch Operative

Start Date: 5th January

Working Hours: Monday–Thursday: 08:00‑16:30; Friday: 07:30‑15:00

The company is looking for a proactive and reliable Packing and Despatch Operative to join their growing team. This permanent role offers stability, a supportive working environment, and the opportunity to play a key part in ensuring products reach customers accurately and on time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pick, pack and prepare orders to meet daily despatch targets with accuracy and care.
  • Operate a Counterbalance forklift safely, efficiently, and in line with all company procedures.
  • Input and update data within warehouse systems, ensuring all information is correct and up to date.
  • Carry out manual handling tasks safely and confidently.
  • Maintain stock areas to ensure they remain tidy, organised, and compliant with health and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to support smooth warehouse operations and resolve any issues promptly.
Skills and Experience
  • Valid Counterbalance licence (essential).
  • Computer literate with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly when inputting data and preparing orders.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse, picking/packing, or despatch environment is advantageous.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines.
  • Dependable and team-focused, with a positive and proactive approach to daily tasks.
