Job summary

Angus Soft Fruits is recruiting for Packhouse Operatives to join our Production team at Orchard Farm, Salford Priors. You will sort and pack premium soft fruit to meet the highest quality standards and customer specifications.

This fast-paced role requires reliability, good communication and a proactive attitude. You will wear PPE, report issues to the Team Leader, maintain clean work areas and work with other departments to support safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a factory or packhouse environment would be beneficial, although not essential.
• Must be able to stand and pack for extended periods and follow safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Sort produce according to quality standards and customer requirements.
• Pack produce using punnets, boxes, crates and pallets to specification.
• Ensure correct product weight and packaging integrity.
• Wear appropriate PPE and follow food hygiene policies.
• Report issues to the Team Leader and maintain clean work areas.
• Collaborate with other departments and support continuous improvement.
• Participate in performance management and the Production Departmental Vision.

In this hands‑on role, you will sort and pack premium soft fruit, including strawberries, blueberries and raspberries, ensuring our products meet the highest quality standards and customer specifications.Working in a fast‑paced environment, you'll play an important role in helping us deliver great‑tasting berries that delight our customers each and every day.,

• To sort produce according to quality standards and customer requirements.
• To pack produce using punnets, boxes, crates and pallets to customer specification.
• To ensure produce weight accuracy.
• To wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times.
• To report any issues to the Team Leader.
• To maintain safe and clean work areas
• To work collaboratively with other departments
• To comply with all Angus Soft Fruits' and food hygiene policies and procedures.
• To comply with health and safety legislation.
• To proactively participate in the individual performance management process, achieving SMART targets and continuous personal development.
• To fully participate in the development and achievement of the Production Departmental Vision.

  Contract: Fixed term from 01/10/2026 to 29/05/2027

Hours: Guaranteed minimum of 32 hours over 4 days per week to include at least one weekend day. Variable working patterns are available and will be discussed during the interview process.
