Acorn by Synergie is recruiting a Packer & Grader Operative for a busy Ilminster food production site. You will inspect potatoes, apply grading guides, and pack products to ensure top quality for customer orders. The role offers flexible ad-hoc shifts from 1 to 5 days weekly and is paid weekly.

This temporary position suits reliable, detail-oriented individuals with experience in warehouse or manufacturing environments and a strong commitment to health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Inspect potatoes and remove products not meeting quality standards.
• Follow photographic grading guides for consistent quality.
• Identify and report foreign objects found during grading.
• Pack products carefully to reach customers in excellent condition.
• Monitor product quality throughout packing operations.
• Report packaging defects or quality concerns to the Machine Operator.
• Ensure correct quantities are packed into trays or pallets.
• Apply labels accurately and ensure traceability.
• Follow health, hygiene and food quality procedures at all times.

Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting Packer & Grader Operatives to join a well-established, fast-paced food production operation in Ilminster.

This is an excellent opportunity for reliable and hardworking individuals with experience in warehouse, packing, food production, quality control or manufacturing environments who are looking for flexible, temporary work.

Whether you're looking to work just one day per week or up to five days per week, flexible ad-hoc shifts are available to suit a range of availability.

As a Packer & Grader Operative, you will play an important role in maintaining product quality, inspecting and grading potatoes, and ensuring customer orders are packed to a high standard.

Key Duties

• Inspect potatoes and remove any products that do not meet quality standards.
• Follow photographic grading guides to ensure consistent product quality.
• Identify and report any foreign objects found during the grading process.
• Pack products carefully to ensure they reach customers in excellent condition.
• Monitor product quality throughout the packing operation.
• Report packaging defects, poor seals, split bags and other quality concerns to the Machine Operator.
• Ensure correct quantities are packed into trays or MUs and stacked safely onto pallets.
• Apply labels accurately and ensure product traceability.
• Follow all health and safety, hygiene and food quality procedures at all times.
