Job summary

Seven Search and Selection Ltd. is seeking a Packaging Procurement Assistant to support the procurement team within a fast-growing FMCG environment. You’ll help design, develop, test and optimise packaging across primary, secondary and tertiary formats.

You’ll collaborate with Artwork, Purchasing, Marketing and Operations, and support NPD with new branded and own-label packaging. A hands-on, proactive approach will help you thrive.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and optimise packaging materials and processes.
• Work across primary, secondary and tertiary packaging, including quality testing.
• Material selection and quality assessment to balance safety, cost and operational needs.
• Stakeholder management with Artwork, Purchasing, Marketing and Operations.
• Support NPD with project management of new branded and own-label packaging.
• Assist the Procurement team with ad hoc tasks across wider food manufacturing operations.

The role:

• The Packaging Procurement Assistant will be responsible for key tasks, spanning across design, development, testing, and optimization of packaging materials and processes.
• Working across primary, secondary and tertiary packaging (including quality testing).
• Ensure packaging is functional, cost-effective and visually appealing.
• Material selection and quality – work to choose the best materials for packaging, based on wider factors (e.g. safety), environmental factors and operational suitability (including cost).
• Stakeholder management – working closely with wider teams, including Artwork, Purchasing, Marketing and Operations.
• Partner closely with the NPD teams – supporting with project managing new branded and own label packaging.
• Finally, the Packaging Procurement Assistant will have a good understanding of wider food manufacturing operations, to enable them to support the Procurement team with ad hoc tasks.
• This is a great role for someone at the start of their FMCG Commercial Journey who's eager to learn.
