A leading construction firm is seeking a Project Engineer to support the preconstruction and procurement team in Plymouth. This role involves managing procurement and onboarding of subcontractors for a key infrastructure project, requiring a degree or equivalent and experience in highly regulated environments. The candidate must possess strong technical knowledge and IT skills. Flexibility in remote working and site visits is offered, with a focus on compliance with health and safety standards.
We are looking for a Project Engineer to support the preconstruction and procurement team for an upcoming construction project, with potential to grow into a future role on the main construction works.
CosMott JV (Costain and Mott McDonald) are providing expertise to support a large infrastructure upgrade programme at Devonport Royal Dockyard. This contributes towards meeting the MOD's future long-term requirements in relation to both its warship and submarine programmes.
As the Project Engineer, you will support the Preconstruction project manager in the procurement and onboarding of multiple subcontractors for the entire project including, the main works contractor, subcontractors and specialist subcontractors for the enabling works. These procurement activities will need to ensure that successful procurement of contractors takes into consideration that the works will be taking place in a highly regulated environment, in close proximity to a number of key stakeholders and must ensure that the successful companies are competent to operate in this environment. In addition to procurement activities, the successful candidate will support the Design Project Manager as required.
This role is based remotely, with some flexibility on when and how often visits to site are made. The role is primarily a full-time role, but this can be discussed. Candidates must be able to obtain security clearance.
