We are recruiting for an experienced PA /Compliance Administrator to work for the Compliance Director for a long established Lloyd's Insurance Broker. Based Southend on Sea, Essex. Note you need to reside in a commutable distance to Southend and have experience at PA level within compliance in financial services. Hybrid working can be discussed.

Job Description Overview

To provide dedicated administrative and organisational support to the Compliance Director and wider Compliance Team. The role ensures that day-to-day compliance operations run smoothly by managing correspondence, maintaining records, performing due diligence and sanctions checks, and assisting with system and account administration. This position suits an organised and reliable professional with strong attention to detail, comfortable handling confidential information, and interested in developing within a regulated environment.

Responsibilities
  • Compliance Administration
    • Monitor and manage the Compliance inbox, logging and allocating incoming emails.
    • Perform and record due diligence and sanctions checks for new counterparties.
    • Maintain compliance registers (due diligence, training, breaches, complaints, gifts & hospitality).
    • Renew annual DD files and follow up with business teams for outstanding information.
    • Maintain version control and accurate filing for all compliance documents and registers.
    • Support the preparation of FCA, Lloyd's, and internal returns under supervision.
    • Assist with scheduling and coordinating compliance monitoring activities and training sessions.
  • Systems & Process Support
    • Set up new counterparties and user accounts on Brokasure and SharePoint.
    • Ensure appropriate documentation is uploaded to relevant folders and databases.
    • Track renewals and review dates for policies, registers, and due diligence files.
    • Generate and maintain tracking logs for tasks, deadlines, and follow-ups.
  • PA & Coordination Duties
    • Manage the Compliance Director's diary, reminders, and filing schedule.
    • Prepare meeting notes, reports, and agendas for compliance and project meetings.
    • Coordinate communication with other departments and external stakeholders (brokers, auditors, regulators).
    • Support ad-hoc projects or initiatives as directed by the Compliance Director or Head of Compliance.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Essential)
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Proficient in Outlook, Excel, Word, and SharePoint (Brokasure experience advantageous).
  • Compliance administrative experience within insurance, financial services, or another regulated sector.
  • High level of accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and adaptable to changing priorities.
Desirable Qualifications
  • CII Insurance Exams or AML/Compliance Qualifications (ICA).
Salary

£35,000 - £45,000 per annum dependent on skills/experience.
