Job summary

A healthcare organization in Bury St Edmunds is seeking a Medical PA to provide essential administrative support for consultants in the Medicine Division. The ideal candidate will possess experience as a secretary or personal assistant, preferably within the NHS, alongside strong communication skills and the ability to manage sensitive information professionally. The role requires effective time management and the ability to work under pressure. The salary range is £27,485 to £30,162 annually, and this is a fixed-term position for 12 months.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as PA or secretary/administration experience in an NHS or related environment.
  • Customer care experience and knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to manage confidential information.

Job description

An opportunity has arisen for a Medical PA to work within the Medicine Division. This post will be to support the Consultants and Nurses and to provide a high quality, efficient and effective administration and secretarial service.

You will be responsible for ensuring work is completed within strict timescales, supporting clinical & non-clinical activities. You will need to exercise your judgement and initiative based on experience and knowledge of arising problems and take appropriate action to resolve situations, including follow up of investigation results, ensuring that all results are presented to medical staff and subsequently actioned in a timely manner. You will have the ability to remain calm when working under pressure, prioritise your workload and to deal with confidential and sensitive issues in a professional manner. You will be able to communicate in a professional manner with patients, relatives, Trust staff and other departments and have a compassionate nature.
