A prominent NHS Trust in the City of Westminster is seeking a full-time Consultant Gastroenterologist to join a dynamic team. The role involves participating in outpatient and inpatient services, developing a large expert team, and contributing to research. This is a consultant post subspecialising in upper gastrointestinal disease who will help us meet the challenges of our expanding clinical, academic and training portfolio. Our vision is that the Guy's & St. Thomas'/King's Health Partners (KHP) Digestive Diseases Unit will provide clinical, training and research excellence that consistently meets and exceeds the expectations of its patients and peers. The Department of Gastroenterology is seeking a new full‑time (10 PA) Consultant Gastroenterologist to join a dynamic, enthusiastic and forward‑thinking team. The department is currently involved in many exciting initiatives and are looking for an individual with appropriate skills to complement this team and help keep the service in the forefront of clinical and academic excellence.
The Department offers a wide range of services to patients with gastroenterological and liver disorders. As part of Kings Health Partners GSTT offers a wide range of tertiary interventional luminal and pancreatico‑biliary endoscopy including advanced endoscopic therapies for upper gastrointestinal malignancies and benign disease such as endoscopic mucosal resection, submucosal dissection, endoscopic myotomies and radiofrequency ablation. In addition the department offers inpatient and outpatient hepatology services to both the local population and supporting other specialised services including dermatology, renal medicine, and haemophilia. The aim of this post is to provide clinical capacity for the current Oesophageal service and to help develop the service towards becoming a tertiary centre for Complex Benign and early oesophago‑gastric malignant Disease. It is also to provide support to the specialised endotherapy treatment program for patients with Barrett's Oesophagus and early oesophageal and gastric cancer.
