Job description
About us

One team. Global challenges. Infinite opportunities. At Viasat, we’re on a mission to deliver connections with the capacity to change the world. For more than 35 years, Viasat has helped shape how consumers, businesses, governments and militaries around the globe communicate. We’re looking for people who think big, act fearlessly, and create an inclusive environment that drives positive impact to join our team.

What you'll do

The People and Culture (P&C) Business Partner is a trusted advisor to managers and leaders within a business area, supporting the delivery of people strategies that enable performance, engagement, and growth.

Reporting to the People Leader, VGS, this role partners with other PCBPs and Talent Partners to implement people initiatives aligned to business priorities, providing guidance on organization design, talent development, performance, inclusion, and culture.

This role operates with a blend of strategic and hands‑on delivery — balancing business partnering with execution of core P&C programs. It supports the translation of global people strategies into local and functional actions, ensuring consistency and excellence in execution.

Our purpose is twofold: to drive business performance and enable our people to be brilliant.

This temporary role is open as hybrid (3 or more days a week in the office).

The day-to-day
Business Partnership
  • Partner with managers/senior managers and their teams to understand business priorities and provide people solutions that drive performance and engagement.
  • Act as a sounding board and coach to managers, helping them manage change, build capability, and deliver results through their teams.
Collaboration and Integration
  • Work closely with P&C Centers of Excellence and People Operations to implement programs effectively and ensure alignment across the broader people agenda.
Organization Effectiveness and Change
  • Support organization design, team effectiveness, and change initiatives, ensuring structures, roles, and processes enable agility and future growth.
Talent and Leadership Development
  • Partner with Talent Partners, managers and leaders to identify, develop, and retain key talent.
  • Support the execution of talent, performance, and succession planning processes, collaborating with Talent CoEs to build a strong leadership pipeline.
Culture and Engagement
  • Champion company values and inclusion, supporting initiatives that strengthen engagement, collaboration, and employee experience.
  • Actively monitor engagement and partner with leaders to take meaningful action.
Data and Insights
  • Use people data, analytics, and feedback to inform decisions, highlight trends, and measure impact. Contribute to workforce planning discussions and anticipate future people needs.
Operational Excellence
  • Ensure consistent and effective delivery of core people processes (e.g., performance management, compensation cycles, employee relations) with a focus on compliance, fairness, and continuous improvement.
What you'll need
  • Proven experience as an HR Business Partner or equivalent HR generalist role in a complex organization.
  • Strong track record of partnering with senior managers to deliver impactful people initiatives.
  • Experience in supporting organization change, team effectiveness, and talent management.
  • Ability to apply data and analytics to inform decision‑making.
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing, and coaching skills.
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of how people strategies enable business success.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a matrixed, fast‑paced environment.
What will help you on the job
  • Experience supporting international or multi‑country teams.
  • Exposure to digital HR tools and analytics platforms.
  • Familiarity with workforce planning, DE&I, and culture transformation initiatives.
  • Professional HR qualification (e.g., CIPD) or equivalent experience.
