Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking an experienced Premises Manager for an elite Oxford school to oversee the day-to-day operation, safety and maintenance of the site.

You will lead on contractor management, inspections, and compliance checks, ensuring heating, lighting, water and security systems are reliable, and that the site remains safe and fit for purpose.

The successful candidate will be practical, well-organised and able to work independently, with Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one.

Qualifications

• Experience managing premises in a school or educational setting.
• Strong knowledge of site safety and compliance requirements.
• Experience coordinating external contractors and service providers.
• Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
• Willingness to obtain Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operation of the school premises.
• Open and secure the school site.
• Perform regular building and grounds inspections.
• Manage maintenance, repairs and contractors.
• Monitor heating, lighting, water and security systems.
• Support health and safety checks and compliance.
• Maintain records of inspections and maintenance.
• Assist with events, room moves and activities.
• Ensure the site remains safe and fit for purpose.
• Coordinate access for deliveries and contractors.
• Oversee outdoor areas and grounds.
• Identify priorities and report issues.
