Job summary

Infinity Limited is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join their expanding team supporting offshore energy and brownfield execution projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering Major Capital Projects, coordinating multidisciplinary engineering activities, and ensuring project controls are effectively managed.

The role is based in Westhill, with some travel to clients' offices in Aberdeen required. A hybrid work model is also available, providing flexibility for suitable candidates.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting delivery of offshore energy projects within operator, asset owner or consultancy environments.
• Experience supporting Brownfield Facilities Modifications and/or Major Capital Projects.
• Familiarity with project controls including cost, schedule, risk and change management.

At Infinity Energy Engineering Limited we are a fully independent Owner’s Project Management and Engineering Consultancy delivering safe, effective and owner-aligned solutions across the full asset lifecycle — from development projects and operational assets through to late-life operations and decommissioning.

We support a wide range of asset owners and operators across the UKCS and internationally, providing integrated Owner’s Project Management (OPM), project engineering and PMO services that help clients deliver projects safely, efficiently and with confidence.

Due to continued growth and increasing demand from our clients, we are seeking multiple experienced Senior Project Engineers to join our team.

The Role

As a Senior Project Engineer within Infinity, you will support the successful delivery of Major Capital Projects and/or Brownfield Facilities Modifications on behalf of our asset owner and operator clients. Working as part of an integrated Owner’s Project Management team, you will coordinate technical, commercial and execution activities across all phases of the project lifecycle, from concept development and Front-End Engineering through execution, commissioning and handover.

You will play a key role in ensuring engineering deliverables, contractor performance, interfaces, risks and project controls are effectively managed to support safe, efficient and predictable project delivery. The successful candidate will be highly organised, proactive and comfortable operating in fast-paced project environments where collaboration, communication and delivery focus are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Support delivery of projects through all lifecycle phases including concept select, define, execute, commissioning and handover
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities to ensure alignment with project objectives and client requirements
• Assist in development and implementation of Project Execution Plans (PEPs), schedules and cost forecasts
• Support management of project scope, risk, change and interface coordination activities
• Coordinate engineering deliverables and contractor activities to ensure safe and efficient project execution
• Liaise with operations, vendors, contractors and third‑party stakeholders to support project delivery objectives
• Monitor project progress and support reporting of cost, schedule and performance metrics
• Support procurement, tendering and contractor management activities where required
• Participate in risk reviews, constructability reviews, HAZIDs, readiness reviews and assurance activities
• Ensure compliance with client governance requirements, technical standards and Stage Gate processes
• Support offshore execution activities, commissioning and handover processes where required
• Ensure Management of Change (MoC) processes are followed and maintained
• Promote safe working practices with HSE as a core priority throughout all project phases
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, action trackers and engineering registers
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across Infinity’s project delivery and PMO services
• Experience supporting delivery of offshore energy projects within operator, asset owner or consultancy environments
• Experience supporting Brownfield Facilities Modifications and/or Major Capital Projects
• Strong understanding of project delivery processes from concept through execution and handover
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering activities and contractor interfaces
• Familiarity with project controls including cost, schedule, risk and change management
• Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Familiarity with UKCS regulatory environment and offshore project delivery requirements
• Ability to work effectively within fast-paced and dynamic project environments
• Strong problem‑solving capability with a proactive and delivery-focused approach
• Experience supporting full lifecycle projects including developments, late-life operations and/or decommissioning projects
• Previous Owner’s Project Management (OPM) consultancy experience
• Knowledge of offshore EPC/EPCI project execution models
• Experience working with Joint Venture Partners and regulatory authorities
• Familiarity with project delivery processes within operational offshore environments
