Job summary

Thales is recruiting an Overseas Maintenance & UK Support Engineer to join our Air Traffic Control and Network Infrastructure team. The role combines overseas deployments in the Falkland Islands with UK project engineering work, focusing on mission-critical communications and ATC infrastructure.

The successful candidate will work independently, maintain complex systems, and support transformation of network solutions, while meeting security requirements and working across remote locations and UK

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years’ experience with SDH or similar telecommunications/network infrastructure equipment.
• Experience in fault diagnosis, troubleshooting and equipment rectification.
• At least 1 year’s experience in an airside engineering maintenance environment.
• Experience working in military or civil Air Traffic Control environments.
• Ability to obtain and maintain UK Security Clearance (SC).

Responsibilities

• Deliver Level 1 and Level 2 maintenance activities, with occasional Level 3 involvement.
• Perform fault diagnosis and rectify equipment, including LRUs.
• Carry out software updates, system configuration changes and testing.
• Undertake preventative maintenance to ensure equipment performance.
• Produce maintenance reports and provide updates to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with remote specialist engineers during fault investigations.
• Support engineering project activities and future network solutions.
