Job summary

Morgan Hunt UK Limited is seeking a Night Support Worker for Redditch to provide overnight care for young residents in a home setting. The role emphasizes safeguarding, welfare checks, and building trusting relationships to support youths through the night.

You will work independently during night shifts while remaining ready to engage with residents as needed, delivering calm, reassuring support and precise record-keeping to ensure safety and continuity of care.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with young people.
• Experience in a support, care, housing, youth work or similar environment.
• A proactive approach and the confidence to engage with young people when required.
• A calm and patient approach, particularly when dealing with challenging situations.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• An understanding of safeguarding and working with vulnerable young people.
• The ability to work independently and responsibly during overnight shifts.
• Reliability and flexibility to work a night shift rota.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, calm and supportive presence throughout the night.
• Complete welfare checks and respond to concerns.
• Engage with young people when needed, offering reassurance and practical support.
• Build positive and professional relationships with residents.
• Encourage independence and maintain positive routines for young people.
• Respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns and incidents.
• Maintain accurate records, handovers and incident reports.
• Follow safeguarding, health and safety and service procedures.
• Work with the wider team to ensure consistent support for residents.
