Purpose of the Role

As the business continues to expand its operations across the utility and infrastructure sectors, the Linesman Supervisor plays a vital role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of overhead line works. This role provides frontline leadership to linesmen teams, ensuring compliance with safety standards, technical specifications, and project timelines. The Linesman Supervisor will be responsible for:

  • Supervising and coordinating daily activities of linesmen and subcontractors.
  • Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with health, safety, environmental, and quality (SHEQ) standards.
  • Supporting the planning and execution of overhead line construction, maintenance, and repair projects.
  • Monitoring team performance and providing on-site coaching and support.
  • Acting as the key point of contact between field teams and project/operations management.
  • Safe completion of all planned works.
  • Assist in Storm restoration.
What You'll Bring
Essential

  • Ensure accurate completion of site documentation, including risk assessments, permits, and work packs
  • Monitor and report on progress, issues, and incidents
  • Support the development of junior team members through mentoring and training

  • Proven experience in overhead line construction and maintenance
  • Strong knowledge of electrical safety and network operations
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Experience working with DNO/IDNO clients and understanding of their standards
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to lead by example
