We're looking for an experienced Overhead Lines Construction Manager to join our UK Power Networks Alliance, leading the safe and successful delivery of overhead line projects across the Cambridgeshire region.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys leading operational teams, building strong client relationships and being out on site, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.

You'll play a key role in managing overhead line construction activities, working closely with Supervisors, site teams and UK Power Networks to deliver essential electricity infrastructure that keeps communities connected.

Here are some of the activities you will be involved in...

  • Leading the delivery of overhead line construction projects across the UKPN network.
  • Managing site teams, subcontractors and operational resources.
  • Promoting an excellent safety culture through regular site visits and audits.
  • Planning works and ensuring projects are delivered on programme.
  • Building strong relationships with UK Power Networks and key stakeholders.
  • Monitoring quality, productivity and commercial performance.
  • Supporting project planning, reporting and continuous improvement.
  • Coaching and developing operational teams.

We would love to hear from you if...

You have significant experience delivering overhead line construction projects within a Distribution Network Operator (DNO) environment and are confident leading operational construction teams in a fast-paced setting.

You'll have a strong technical understanding of LV, HV and overhead line construction practices, together with an excellent knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation, ensuring works are delivered safely and compliantly.

You'll be an organised and proactive leader with strong planning skills, capable of managing programmes, coordinating resources and driving projects through to successful completion.

You enjoy building collaborative relationships with clients, stakeholders and operational teams, using your excellent communication and problem-solving skills to overcome challenges and deliver high-quality outcomes. Additionally, you will also bring good commercial awareness, with experience monitoring project performance, programme delivery and costs.

Experience working on UK Power Networks contracts, or with another Distribution Network Operator, would be highly advantageous. A full UK driving licence is essential.
