Job summary

AP Education is recruiting Outreach Tutors to deliver personalised, one-to-one support for children and young people in Swindon and surrounding areas. You will tailor sessions to each learner's needs, planning engaging activities and tracking progress with the Education Coordinator.

We offer flexible, term-time working with guaranteed weekly pay and opportunities for additional placements through local authority partnerships.

Qualifications

Experience tutoring or supporting CYP with SEND and/or SEMH needs.
Background in education, youth work, mentoring or a relevant therapeutic setting.
QTS or HLTA qualifications, or 2+ years UK experience without formal teaching qualifications.
Strong communication and record-keeping skills.
Patient, compassionate and proactive approach.
Ability to work independently and with a wider team.

Responsibilities

Deliver face-to-face, one-to-one English, maths and science tuition or SEMH mentoring.
Build trusting relationships to help learners engage.
Use flexible approaches to overcome barriers to learning.
Assess starting points and support progress and engagement.
Plan sessions and maintain attendance records and progress reports.
Collaborate with families, your Education Coordinator and professionals.
Support successful transitions into further education or next steps.
