Job summary

An educational outreach service is seeking compassionate Outreach Tutors to work with students in Kingston and Richmond. The role involves providing 1:1 or small group tuition for learners with various needs, including social, emotional, and mental health challenges. Ideal candidates should have experience in special educational needs and be able to adapt teaching methods for engaging lessons. Flexible working hours are available, primarily covering school timings.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with students who have social, emotional, and mental health needs.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods for students with Autism and trauma backgrounds.
  • Experience in tutoring or teaching, particularly in special educational needs (SEN).

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 or small group tuition to learners outside of school.
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons across primary and secondary key stages.
  • Write weekly and termly progress reports.

We are seeking a committed and compassionate Outreach Tutors

We are seeking experienced tutors and teachers who would like the opportunity to step out of the busy classroom environment

About the Role

Working with students who are dual-diagnosed with various needs

Mainly with will social and emotional as well as mental health needs, Autism, and childhood traumas

As an outreach tutor, you’ll provide 1 : 1 or small group tuition for learners who are out of school or waiting for school reintegration

Working with some flexibility across home and community-based settings

Have a wide understanding of teaching SEN learners to adapt and plan engaging, stimulating learning environments

Positive behaviour and mentoring are a structured approach for successful assignment and report building with your students

Plan and deliver tailored, engaging sessions across primary and secondary key stages, mainly core subjects, unless specified

Work collaboratively with extended educational professionals, social workers

Writing Progress reports weekly and termly

Kingston Upon Thames and Richmond Upon Thames

Contract

Long-term and term-time only, full-time or part-time hours

Working hours

Depends on hours for each case; however, they are school hours between 9 : 00-3 : 00
