Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated SEND Tutor to provide personalised 1:1 tuition for pupils with additional learning needs in and around Harwich. You will plan and deliver tailored lessons to close gaps, build confidence, and help pupils re-engage with their education.

This temporary role suits experienced teachers or tutors looking for meaningful, individual support. Flexible hours (2–30 per week) and pay at £25 per hour.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months' experience in a UK school or tutoring environment.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEN or additional learning needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver tailored 1:1 lessons designed to close learning gaps and build pupil confidence.
• Monitor pupil progress and adapt strategies to individual learning plans.

Education

QTS, QTLS, PGCE, EYFS qualification or equivalent

In this role, you will plan and deliver tailored lessons designed to close learning gaps, build confidence, and help pupils re-engage with their education. Many of the young people you will support have been out of formal schooling for a period of time, so patience, encouragement, and a flexible teaching approach are essential.

This role is ideal for experienced teachers or tutors who are looking to step away from the traditional classroom and focus on meaningful, individual support.

Prospero Teaching will work closely with you to support pupil progress and ensure positive learning outcomes.

Experience, Training & Qualifications

• QTS, QTLS, PGCE, EYFS qualification or equivalent
• Minimum 6 months\' experience in a UK school or tutoring environment
• Experience supporting pupils with SEN or additional learning needs
• To be eligible, you must:
  • Have the Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply)
  • Provide two professional from the last two years
