Job summary

An educational support organization is seeking an Outreach Tutor to provide face-to-face support for children with special educational needs in Bromley. The role requires planning engaging lessons tailored to each student's needs and managing challenging behaviours. Flexibility around your availability is offered, and experience with SEND students is essential. A valid enhanced child workforce DBS is required for application.

Qualifications

  • Experience with ASD, ADHD, PDA, SEMH or PMLD is essential.
  • Holding a valid enhanced child workforce DBS is mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Provide face-to-face support to children at homes or local centres.
  • Plan and deliver engaging sessions tailored to student needs.
  • Track learning progress and provide monthly reports.

Outreach Tutor

Remedy Tutors are looking for Outreach experienced tutors, teachers who are looking for flexible and rewarding work with a rewarding schedule in Bromley and surrounding areas.

This Outreach tutor role involves:

  • working with children with SEN and providing face‑to‑face support to children with ASD, ADHD, PDA, SEMH or PMLD at their homes or a local centre e.g., town hall, library or a centre;
  • planning lessons and resources around the student's needs. This could be in the core subjects or life skills;
  • plan and deliver engaging sessions;
  • apply skills to raise pupils' confidence;
  • manage children with challenging behaviour;
  • track the learning progress of the student to achieve their desired learning outcomes and being able to provide monthly reports;
  • potentially engage in outdoor activities such as learning about plants and nature with the student;
  • learn about visuals to communicate in some cases.

The work is fitted around your availability.

Experience working with SEND students and a valid enhanced child workforce DBS are both essential.
