Job description
Outreach Recovery Workers – Cornwall (Ref:0028ZB)

We are part of a large integrated drug and alcohol service working with some of Cornwall’s most excluded and disadvantaged people. Applicants must submit a CV and cover letter. The role may close earlier than 16 November 2025 if we receive a high volume of applications.

Main Duties
  • Work within Drug and Alcohol Outreach at Truro, Penzance or Liskeard to support people who are rough sleeping or in insecure accommodation.
  • Collaborate with the Adult Community Service, Young People’s Service, community, clinical, criminal‑justice and residential rehabilitation facilities.
  • Conduct harm‑reduction, assessment, and help people access treatment options on the street and in hostels.
  • Respond to frequent attenders of Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro in partnership with safeguarding, housing and homelessness services.
  • Maintain caseloads, care plans and health‑and‑safety risk assessments.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
  • Evidence of continuous professional development – OCN/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, or willing to achieve within 12 months.
  • Experience in outreach, housing/homelessness, healthcare, social care, criminal justice or domestic‑abuse settings.
  • Successful track record of working with substance‑misuse clients.
  • Resilient, able to prioritise and work under pressure in a fast‑moving environment.
  • Knowledge of health and safety, assessment of high‑risk situations, and care planning.
  • Strong relationship‑building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Full UK driving licence and own transport – required for travel across Cornwall.
  • Ability to work flexible, unsocial hours, including occasional weekend work.
Salary & Hours

Starting salary £25,000 per annum, rising annually in line with pay progression to £30,000. Work 37.5 hours per week, with occasional weekend and unsocial hours.
