A leading healthcare provider in Manchester is seeking a part-time Band 5 Nurse to join their SACT Outreach Team. The successful candidate will provide nursing care in various outreach locations, support junior staff, and coordinate clinic efforts. Ideal applicants will be RGN qualified with experience in adult nursing and SACT. This role offers a salary range of £31,049 to £37,796 per annum, pro rata, based on experience.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a part time Band 5 Nurse post within the SACT Outreach Team.

The SACT Outreach Team delivers treatments for Patients closer to home. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team providing care closer to home.

The Nurse will be required to provide a supportive role within the SACT Outreach sites for nursing, medical & clerical staff whilst also covering the Oak Road treatment Centre if required. Sites are located at St Ann's Little Hulton, New Mills, Dr Kershaw's Hospice, Bury Hospice, St Luke's Hospice & Tameside MacMillan Unit.

Main duties of the job

The SACT Outreach Team delivers treatments for Patients closer to home. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team providing care closer to home.

You will also be required to provide support where required to Oak Road Treatment Centre and staff.

The staff ensure that they are providing a supportive environment to enable others to develop excellent skills and knowledge within this field. Once established in the role, you will be expected to co-ordinate Outreach Clinics, develop your clinical skills within SACT and teach others. You will also manage staff, their personal development needs and management of attendance.

We are looking for a dynamic individual who is able to demonstrate initiative and vision in continuing to move the service forward whilst assisting in implementing service changes and developments with a positive impact of patient care. Encouraging staff engagement and leading by example showing a strong positive role model.

Job responsibilities

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

General Duties
  1. Provide a supportive role within the SACT outreach sites for nursing, medical and clerical Staff whilst providing cover between the Chemotherapy Services Units. This will include all other SACT outreach sites.
  2. Undertake the nursing care of patients, ensuring privacy & dignity is maintained whilst being aware of physical and psychological needs
  3. To give a clear and accurate update at change of duties and ensure accurate documentation of nursing interventions
  4. Participate in nursing procedures appropriate to the department
  5. Support and assist in the induction/training of junior staff/Health Care Assistants acting as mentor to designated staff
  6. To welcome patients to the site/unit and its routine
  7. Be able to act as co-ordinator and ensure the safe and timely management of patients
  8. To liaise with medical and non medical personnel and community organisations
  9. Rotate/ work on ORTC SACT unit if required
  10. To highlight areas of improvement/development within the department and undertake relevant projects
  11. To act as support for other nurses on site
  12. Assist in the provision of meals / refreshments for patients whilst meeting their nutritional needs
  13. Assist in the general housekeeping duties of all areas.
  14. Help to maintain a safe environment and report faults/risks etc to the nurse in charge
  15. Liaise with nurse responsible for stores/stationery and ordering and assist in the maintenance of stock levels
  16. Handles patients personal possessions, ensure cash and valuables kept securely
  17. Aid the safe storage of medicines and the return of any unused SACT to pharmacy
  18. Assist medical staff with procedures

  3. Maintain confidentiality with regard to patient information both at work and outside of working hours

  6. To be aware of limitations and utilise the preceptor system for any issues that arise
