Job Responsibilities
- Provide a supportive role within the SACT outreach sites for nursing, medical and clerical staff, covering the Oak Road treatment centre as required.
- Undertake nursing care of patients, ensuring privacy, dignity and awareness of physical and psychological needs.
- Give clear and accurate updates at change of duties and document nursing interventions accurately.
- Participate in nursing procedures appropriate to the department.
- Support and assist in induction/training of junior staff and health care assistants, acting as a mentor.
- Welcome patients to the site/unit and maintain a welcoming routine.
- Coordinate and ensure safe, timely management of patients.
- Liaise with medical, non‑medical personnel and community organisations.
- Rotate/work on ORTC SACT units if required.
- Highlight areas of improvement, undertaking relevant projects.
- Assist other nurses on site and provide support where necessary.
- Manage meals/refreshments for patients, ensuring nutritional needs are met.
- Assist with general housekeeping duties.
- Maintain a safe environment, report faults or risks to the nurse in charge.
- Liaise with the nurse responsible for stores/stationery and assist with stock levels.
- Handle patients' personal possessions, ensuring cash and valuables are kept securely.
- Aid in safe storage of medicines and return unused SACT to pharmacy.
- Assist medical staff with procedures.

Person Specification
Essential
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) level 1 or 2.
- Qualification in Adult Nursing.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to deliver high standard nursing care.
- Team player and flexible.
- Ability to demonstrate the organisation’s values and behaviours.
- Participation in personal development activities.
Desirable
- Diploma in Health Care Studies.
- SACT experience.
- Oncology experience.
