Outreach Family Support Worker - Early Help

Agency Contract | Initial 3 Months (Possible Extension)

We're recruiting an experienced Outreach Family Support Worker to support a busy Early Help service within a large public‑sector organisation. This is a frontline, agency role offering meaningful work with children, young people and families using a whole‑family, strengths‑based approach.

The role entails managing complex Early Help cases, including step‑down from social care, providing targeted outreach and home‑based support to improve outcomes and prevent escalation to statutory services. You’ll act as Lead Professional, coordinate multi‑agency plans and work closely with Consultant Social Workers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage complex Early Help cases (Level 3/2)
  • Complete Early Help Assessments and lead TAF meetings
  • Provide intensive family and adolescent support
  • Support transitions between Early Help and Social Care
  • Work in line with Signs of Safety and outcome‑focused practice
  • Maintain accurate electronic case records
Contract Details
  • Length: Initial 3 months, with strong potential for extension
  • Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday‑Friday
  • Location: City‑wide (outreach and home visits required)
  • Hybrid working: First 4 weeks – 5 days per week in the office (induction); thereafter – 3 days per week in the office
Requirements
  • Experience working with children, young people and families in Early Help or similar services
  • Confident managing complex cases and multi‑agency working
  • Strong safeguarding knowledge
  • Enhanced DBS required
