Main duties of the job

As an Outpatient Sister you will:

  • Ensure the efficient running of the Outpatient Department, support and deputise for the Clinical Head of Department (as required).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with all members of the MDT, consultants and patients.
  • Enthusiastic and motivated with a strong "can do" attitude that replicates your own desire to succeed.
  • Co‑ordinate activity and be responsible for patient care and safety.
  • Be instrumental to the patient experience, ensuring seamless, personalised care.
  • Apply your knowledge and skills in assessment, care planning and delivery.
  • Champion a supportive, enabling working culture on the ward, promoting staff safety and education.

Nuffield Health Derby Hospital The Nuffield Health Derby Hospital is a modern, purpose‑built hospital with 38 en‑suite beds, three operating theatres, and a comprehensive range of outpatient services. The Radiology department is a small but busy department covering general radiographic procedures, theatre, ultrasound, MRI and CT. Set in beautiful grounds, we're about 3 miles from the city centre, within easy reach of all major roads and bus routes.

Qualifications
  • Registered with the appropriate governing body and holding the relevant qualifications and experience, including NMC.
Experience
  • Strong clinical leadership and experience leading a team to a shared vision to promote innovation and sustainability.
  • Good communication and organisational skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Knowledge and understanding of running a smooth, effective department, including equipment management.
