What you’ll be doing as an Outfall Investigation Technician
- Identifying and tracing pollution in the affected catchments, and narrowing down areas and sub-catchments to street and property levels using lift and look tracing, caging, CCTV and sampling.
- You will carry out property surveys at domestic and commercial properties to check connections using dye and CCTV and identify misconnections or other pollution sources.
- Completing survey sheets detailing the issue for the customer to rectify.
- Perform follow‑up visits to check rectifications, assist customers in finding solutions, and diagnose pollution at outfalls.
- Support network regions with reactive tracing where required, and STW catchment investigations.
- Technicians may also be required to install missing surface water rodding eye caps in private drains, which requires confined space entry and light civil work.
Base location : London – Travel will be required to the following locations: Hogsmill (KT13BW), Mogden (TW77LW), Maple Lodge (WD39SQ) & Slough (SL14QA).
Working pattern or hours: 36 Hours per week (Mon-Fri).
What should you bring to the role?
- Full UK Driving License for daily travel to locations for assigned project work and customer properties.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Competent at using the appropriate IT systems, GIS and O365 software.
- Excellent organisational skills.
Additional skills and experiences would be great to have / bring:
- Knowledge of drainage and sewerage systems is desirable.
- Previous experience in a similar role within the water industry.
