Job summary

Purple Line Ltd in Ipswich is seeking a Product Designer (Product Development Designer) to bring creative flair and commercial awareness to a growing team. You will take concepts from initial idea through to finished product, working closely with designers, production teams, suppliers, and manufacturers to shape practical, well-engineered products loved by end users.

The role emphasizes collaboration, manufacturability, and cost considerations, with opportunities to contribute to the OPUS range

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, HND, or equivalent experience in Product Design or related design discipline.
• Confident using CAD or Adobe software to develop and communicate designs.
• Solid grounding in product development and design for manufacture, with interest in well-engineered real-world products.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and development of the outdoor leisure product range, from concept through to production.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine designs for manufacturability, assembly, usability, durability, and cost.
• Create clear, detailed drawings, diagrams, and supporting documentation using CAD or Adobe software.
• Work with suppliers and manufacturing partners to review samples, troubleshoot issues, and ensure design intent is met.
• Keep records of design iterations, feedback, and testing outcomes.
• Write up engineering change reports to drive product improvements and production updates.
• Follow up with product users to capture feedback for future iterations.
