Job summary

Amegreen Children’s Services is seeking Learning Mentors to support learners across animal care, bushcraft, forest provision and enterprise. You’ll work with 1:1 and small groups, delivering practical and curriculum activities while building trust and independence.

You will collaborate with Department Leads, tutors and other staff, support wellbeing, and help learners transition between placements and school contexts. Training and DBS checks apply.

Qualifications

• Experience with vulnerable children and young people, especially with SEN/SEMH.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, welfare and inclusion.
• Ability to deliver creative activities and maintain engaging sessions.
• Strong communication with families and professionals; accurate records.
• Experience working outdoors and with animals is beneficial.
• Relable, resilient and willing to learn through training.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver safe, accessible sessions across multiple sites.
• Work 1:1 and in small groups; adapt activities to learner needs.
• Help learners set goals and participate in decisions about learning.
• Support transitions and reintegration into school with teams.
• Prepare resources and spaces; assist with practical tasks and lunches.
• Transport learners between sites and supervise sessions when needed.
