Job summary

Brave Roots Forest School is seeking an enthusiastic Forest School and Outdoor Learning Apprentice to support planning and delivery of child-led outdoor sessions for schools, nurseries, and holiday clubs. This 24 hour hybrid role involves on-site work in local schools and home-based preparation and administration.

You will help set up learning spaces, support children during activities, and assist with resource preparation while upholding Brave Roots’ values of inclusion, respect, and curiosity.

Qualifications

• Interest in outdoor learning, nature-based education, and child-led play.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage children and collaborate with schools.
• Awareness of safeguarding, health and safety, and risk assessment in outdoor environments.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and adapt activities to ages and needs.
• Organizational skills for preparing resources and session planning.
• Commitment to inclusion and non-discriminatory practice.
• Desirable: Forest School training or related qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Set up and pack away outdoor learning spaces.
• Support children during activities like den building and nature exploration.
• Contribute to session planning, administer simple learning resources, and help with health and safety.
