Job summary

Genuine Parts Company in the United Kingdom is seeking a Warehouse Operative for outbound shipping lanes. This is a fast-paced, physically demanding role requiring lifting up to 25kg, standing and walking for extended periods, and a focus on accuracy in order processing.

You will receive, pick, pack, and dispatch orders, operate pallet trucks and forklifts, perform stock checks, and help maintain inventory integrity while adhering to health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in a warehouse or distribution environment is preferred but not essential.
• Ability to lift up to 25 kg and stand/walk for long periods.
• Good communication and ability to work in a team.
• Willingness to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Receive, unload, and check incoming goods for quality and quantity
• Accurately pick, pack, and prepare orders for dispatch in line with company procedures
• Operate warehouse equipment safely, including pallet trucks and forklifts (training provided if required)
• Carry out stock checks, cycle counts, and maintain accurate inventory records
• Ensure the warehouse is clean, tidy, and compliant with health and safety regulations
• Assist with loading and unloading of delivery vehicles efficiently
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily operational targets
• Report any discrepancies, damages, or safety issues promptly to management
• Follow all company policies and procedures related to warehouse operations and safety
