Outbound Logistics Manager

Location: London (hybrid – 50% office Oxford Circus, 50% remote)
Salary: Circa £45,000–£55,000 DOE

From day one, you’ll take ownership of outbound logistics across retail, e-commerce, and marketplace channels, ensuring performance, service, and customer experience keep pace with growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • 3PL & Warehouse Operations – Supervise outbound logistics performance across European 3PL partners — ensuring warehouses have the right training, materials, KPIs, and SLAs in place.
  • Retail & E-commerce Fulfilment – Own delivery and returns visibility across retail, e-commerce, and marketplace (Zalando) channels. Track delays, escalate proactively, and partner with Customer Service and Retail teams to keep things running smoothly.
  • Customer Experience (WISMO) – Analyse “Where Is My Order” queries, identify root causes, and build processes that reduce friction and improve delivery experience.
  • Cost Control & Procurement – Develop structured monthly cost reports and track trends vs. budget. Manage procurement for outbound logistics and retail packaging, liaising closely with Finance.
  • Retail Packaging Management – Forecast packaging needs, manage suppliers across Europe and Asia, and prevent last-minute shortages through smart planning.
  • Continuous Improvement – Create standard trackers and KPIs, establish feedback loops, and drive operational excellence through data-led decision-making.
  • Travel – Support site visits, warehouse reviews, store openings, and events across Europe — travel c.20%.
What We’re Looking For
  • 5+ years’ experience in logistics, supply chain, or operations roles.
  • Proven track record in direct-to-consumer environments (retail/e-commerce focus ideal).
  • Systems-savvy with strong analytical skills. SAP experience preferred (S/4HANA a plus).
  • Hands-on, adaptable, and comfortable rolling up sleeves to solve operational issues.
  • Excellent communicator across cultures and time zones; Japanese or additional European languages a plus.
  • Experience in cost reporting, procurement, and packaging logistics is desirable.

  • 3PLs aligned, KPIs tracked, and performance communicated clearly.
  • Cost reporting embedded and actionable insights delivered monthly.
  • WISMO and delivery queries are reduced through smarter processes.
