Job Overview

Astute's Power team is partnering with a leading energy provider to recruit an Outage, Project and Reliability Engineer for its Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) plant in Nottinghamshire. This Outage, Project and Reliability Engineer position comes with a salary of £51,212 to £63,262 per annum, plus a comprehensive benefits package.

If you're an experienced engineer with a strong technical background in plant maintenance, reliability, and project delivery within the power or heavy industrial sectors, this is an excellent opportunity to contribute to one of the UK's most advanced energy assets.

Responsibilities and duties
  • Support the delivery of outage strategies, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently and on time.
  • Analyse plant performance and develop improvements to enhance availability and reliability.
  • Manage and support engineering projects from concept through to completion, including modifications, upgrades and statutory maintenance.
  • Oversee maintenance and service contracts, ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory and quality standards.
  • Provide technical guidance to operations and maintenance teams to achieve engineering excellence.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, delivering measurable benefits to plant performance and cost efficiency.
Professional qualifications
  • Degree in engineering or equivalent experience within electrical or mechanical disciplines.
  • Demonstrable experience in plant engineering, maintenance, and reliability within power or heavy industry.
  • Knowledge of legislation such as PSSR, DSEAR, and COMAH.
  • Proven experience managing outages, inspections and asset integrity programmes.
  • Strong understanding of reliability‑centred maintenance and risk‑based inspection methodologies.
  • Competence in contract management and project delivery.
  • NEBOSH or IOSH highly desirable.

  • A confident communicator with strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

Salary: £51,212 to £63,262 per annum, depending on experience. Comprehensive benefits package.
