Job Type: Contract

IR35 Status: Inside

Start date: Immediate

Duration: Up to Dec 2026 (Extension possible beyond this)

Pay rate: £23.67 - £35.75 depending on experience, Umbrella rates available on request.

Location: Sizewell, Leiston

Hours of work: 37 hours per week, 5 days (Potential of flexible working up to 2 days TBD)

Our client, a leader in Nuclear Generation requires an Outage Project Lead at their site in Sizewell, Leiston to assist the Project Lead. As an Outage Project Lead, you'll be responsible for delivering your assigned project area's outage objectives safely, on time, and within budget, to meet the station's business targets. You'll lead the preparation and execution of your scope, proactively managing risks and ensuring successful delivery. The role involves working closely with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, and may require working shifts during the outage period, including nights and outage execution plans.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate of the following skills/experience:

  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • A calm, methodical approach with strong prioritisation abilities.
  • Discretion when handling sensitive information.
  • A proactive, questioning mindset to ensure safety remains our top priority.
  • You should hold a relevant HNC (or equivalent); a degree would be advantageous. You'll also need the drive, ownership, and interpersonal skills to lead change and foster cross-functional collaboration, building a strong team ethos to deliver effective work programmes.
  • Successful applicants will be expected to integrate into the outage planning team.

Role information:

  • Take ownership of your project scope from the multi-year planning team and lead its preparation and execution.
  • Monitor progress throughout the outage, identifying and resolving risks or issues that could impact delivery.
  • Manage discovery milestones and contingency plans, ensuring high standards of quality.
  • Maintain strong communication and collaboration with delivery teams to optimise shared resources and minimise disruption from emergent work.
  • Provide effective problem-solving and decision-making within your project area.
  • Review and improve project delivery processes to enhance performance in future outage cycles.
