Black Country Women’s Aid

Black Country Women’s Aid (BCWA) is an established charity working across the Black Country and wider West Midlands, providing accommodation and community support services to victims of domestic abuse, sexual abuse and human trafficking.

Accommodation Services
  • 24‑hour access refuge accommodation for victims of domestic abuse (women and children only)
  • Dispersed accommodation for victims of domestic abuse (women, children, male victims) across the borough
  • Resettlement support post‑departure from domestic abuse accommodation services
  • Victim safety adviser post‑departure from domestic abuse accommodation services
  • Community services group activity
  • Safe house for victims of modern‑day slavery (women and children only)
  • Dispersed accommodation for victims of modern‑day slavery (women, children, male victims) across the borough
  • Counselling services (part of BCWA Community services)
Domestic Abuse Accommodation Service

BCWA provides 24-hour emergency accommodation for victims of domestic violence and abuse in need of temporary safe accommodation. The service manages 41 units of accommodation in various locations of the Black Country, ranging from houses in multiple occupation, individual flats and houses, as well as group schemes. The dedicated team provides bespoke, client‑led support to empower survivors of abuse to gain confidence and make informed choices.

Job Role

Job Title: Out of Hours Support and Security Staff Position type: Bank shifts Salary: £12.21 p/h (in line with minimum wage) Shift pattern: Weekend shifts – Saturday day, Saturday night, Sunday day and Sunday night (night shifts are 4.30 pm‑9.30 am, day shifts are 9 am‑5 pm) Closing date: 28 October 2025 All interviews will be held via Microsoft Teams

Responsibilities
  • Support clients and their children within domestic abuse refuge accommodation.
  • Ensure accommodation is fit for purpose, meets health and safety requirements and is safe at all times.
  • Maintain and uphold security measures of accommodation sites in line with agreed procedures/protocols.
  • Engage with stakeholders and clients at all levels.
  • Display empathy, excellent interpersonal skills and a hardworking attitude.
