Location: Truro, Penzance, and Bodmin Days per week: Weekday. Evening and weekend shifts. Self Employed out of hours. Dentist roles.
NON-Bank Holiday
Full day session = £650
Day session = £325
Truro Health Park only - Evening (2-hour session) = £185
Bank Holidays
Full day session = £975

We're expanding our Out-of-Hours team with exciting opportunities available on a self-employed basis for evening and weekend shifts across Truro, Penzance, and Bodmin, delivering Unscheduled Urgent Dental Care to those who need it most.
Evening Shifts 5:30pm to 7:30pm Weekend Shifts Saturdays & Sundays 8.30am to 4.30pm

GDC registration without conditions
Clinical Care & Patient Experience
Deliver high-quality unscheduled dental care to NHS patients (adults and children). Apply current best practice and evidence‑based guidance in areas such as:
Maintain awareness of referral pathways and patient access routes, including stabilisation clinics. Provide thorough clinical documentation to support continuity of care. Treat target numbers of patients efficiently while ensuring excellent patient experience.
Adhere to the standards set out by the General Dental Council (GDC) and maintain full registration without conditions.
Comply with Smile Together’s internal policies, procedures, and contractual obligations.
Maintain appropriate indemnity cover and NHS performer number.
Take personal responsibility for understanding and complying with all relevant codes of conduct and governance frameworks.
Maintain a Personal Development Plan and up‑to‑date CPD log.
Engage in reflective practice and strive for continuous improvement.
Attend and actively contribute to peer review meetings, clinical audits, and development sessions.
Maintain mandatory training compliance and embrace ongoing changes in legislation, technologies, and clinical practice.
Participate in training through Smile Together’s Training Academy and external education providers.
Support colleagues across Smile Together, including Early Years Dentists, Apprentice Nurses, and wider clinical teams.
Contribute to delivering unscheduled dental care services, including collaborative team temperature checks.
Represent Smile Together professionally as an ambassador for our mission, vision, and values.
Be willing to work from other locations when required, integrating into the local team as needed.
Actively engage in service development, planning sessions, and in‑house meetings.
Work with the Clinical Director and operational leads to help drive service improvement.
Deliver in‑house training sessions or webinars as required.
Play a key role in contributing to Smile Together’s success as a Social Enterprise by supporting community‑focused oral health innovation.
Maintain safe working practices at all clinical sites and ensure compliance with clinical governance requirements.
Adhere to all health and safety procedures and promptly report incidents or near misses using the designated process.
Maintain strong IT skills, particularly in using the Practice Management System.
Undertake any additional reasonable responsibilities as requested by the Clinical Director or management team.
