OT Cyber Security Engineer

VIQU have partnered with a leading organisation in the industrial technology and energy sector to hire an OT Cyber Security Engineer. This role focuses on safeguarding Operational Technology (OT) and Plant Computing Systems (PCS) through robust cyber security practices, compliance management, and continuous improvement. You will work onsite within a highly regulated environment, supporting system security, risk management, and operational resilience across critical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities of the OT Cyber Security Engineer:
  • Support configuration control, malware checks, backups, and digital forensic investigations for OT/PCS systems
  • Maintain accurate asset inventories, risk registers, and network diagrams
  • Identify, assess, and manage cyber risks to OT assets
  • Administer and maintain CBSIS documentation, including risk assessments and operating procedures
  • Participate in cyber incident response activities and deliver security awareness training
  • Work with system engineers to implement and enforce security requirements
  • Ensure compliance with IEC 62443, NIST CSF, and EDF standards
  • Support software library management, version control, and configuration tracking
  • Promote knowledge sharing and capability development within the OT cyber team
Key Requirements of the OT Cyber Security Engineer:
  • Degree or HND in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or related discipline
  • Hands‑on experience with ICSS, SCADA, PLCs, HMIs, and industrial protocols such as Modbus, OPC, or HART
  • Strong understanding of network security principles, DMZ architecture, and secure configurations
  • Familiarity with both modern and legacy industrial computing systems
  • Experience with cyber governance, documentation, and compliance frameworks
  • Excellent attention to detail, documentation, and communication skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships across technical and operational teams
  • Full UK driving licence and residence within 60 minutes of Heysham
  • Eligible for SC clearance
