A regional healthcare provider is seeking a motivated Orthotist to join a therapeutic footwear team focusing on complex diabetes caseloads. The role involves assessing patients, prescribing therapeutic footwear, and working within a multi-disciplinary team. Applicants must be registered podiatrists with postgraduate experience and a strong clinical background. This is a permanent part-time position based in Northamptonshire, offering a salary range of £47,810 to £54,710 per annum.
The Diabetic & High‑Risk Foot Service is seeking a motivated Orthotist for a unique opportunity. The successful applicant will join our established therapeutic footwear team, specialising in complex diabetes caseloads. The post involves working alongside Diabetes Specialist Podiatrists and Footwear Specialists to provide optimum care and play an essential role in a multi‑disciplinary approach to patient treatment plans. This is a countywide post based in Northamptonshire. Assess and manage the on‑going care of an agreed caseload of patients within the specialist area. Care will be provided to patients with:
The post holder will be responsible for a defined caseload primarily consisting of patients with diabetes and associated complications. They will communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals and the diabetes multi‑disciplinary team, prescribe therapeutic stock and modified stock footwear, be actively involved in the provision of made‑to‑measure footwear, and participate in education, training and supervision of other staff in association with therapeutic footwear.
