Job summary

DePuy Synthes, part of Johnson & Johnson MedTech, is recruiting for a Development Engineer in the Joint Reconstruction R&D Knee New Product Development Team in Leeds, UK. You will drive design and development of new medical device products and collaborate with design, quality, manufacturing and external suppliers across the product lifecycle.

We seek an engineer with at least 2 years in product development, strong design and analysis skills, and capability to manage projects and communicate

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant Engineering subject is required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years work experience in a Product Development role.
• Engineering design, development and analysis skills.
• Strong project management and communication skills.
• Expertise in Design History File generation and associated documentation such as technical reports, test reports and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Manage design inputs and outputs, materials, biocompatibility, risk management, and verification & validation activities.
• Support product testing with protocol and test method development.
• Collaborate with design, quality, manufacturing and suppliers across functions and geographies; demonstrate analytical problem solving.
• Support development of multiple new product codes with differing technology across external supply base.
• Collaborate with the design team to provide DFX input and translate product design inputs to product/process outputs.
• Develop and qualify complex tolerance analysis for product assemblies.
• Conduct process characterizations, DOE's, and statistical optimizations.
