Job summary

Head Medical is seeking experienced Orthopaedic Scrub Practitioners to support waiting list initiatives across the East of Scotland. Join a professional theatre team to help reduce patient waiting times while maintaining high-quality surgical care.

Role requires minimum 2 years post-registration operating theatre experience, scrub experience for major joint orthopaedic procedures and current NMC/HCPC registration. Travel and accommodation are not provided; on-site in East of Scotland.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years post-registration operating theatre experience.
• Demonstrable experience scrubbing for major joint orthopaedic procedures.
• Current registration with the NMC or HCPC.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexible and adaptable approach to working.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled scrub support for orthopaedic procedures, including major joint surgery.
• Maintain a safe and sterile operating environment at all times.
• Prepare, handle and account for surgical instruments and equipment appropriately.
• Work collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists and multidisciplinary theatre teams.
• Adhere to all clinical governance, infection prevention and health and safety policies.
• Contribute to the delivery of efficient and effective theatre lists.
