We’re looking for an experienced OD / L&D Manager to lead improvements in our performance management and workforce development processes and to support us as we adapt our organisational structure to fully integrate new services.
Clarkson Evans is the largest electrical and solar installer working in the new build housing sector, wiring over 24,000 homes a year. Established 45 years ago, we now employ more than 900 staff across the UK and we work with the country’s major house builders. At the core of our business lies our commitment to providing excellent service and achieving high-quality workmanship, as well as our dedication to training large numbers of electrical apprentices. Our values state that we show commitment to achieving high standards, we’ll change when there’s an opportunity to improve, we care about doing the right thing, and through collaboration we achieve more, valuing long‑term career progression.
We’re now looking for someone who will bring their OD / L&D expertise to help us clearly define the purpose and expectations of each role in the business and put the structure and training in place to maximise performance. You’ll also play an important role in helping us standardise practices between departments and better define reporting lines and accountability.
Based at our HQ in Gloucester, you’ll join an HR team of six and report to our Head of HR. Occasional travel to our regional branches may be required but your focus will be engaging with colleagues in our management team at HQ. There will be some flexibility for home working but typically you’ll be in the office most days to build relationships with colleagues across departments. This is a full‑time role (39 hours a week), with early starts being the norm in our industry (typically 8:00 am) finishing an hour earlier on Fridays.
