The role

As an Order Book Clerk, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth flow of procurement activities that underpin our defence and engineering projects. This is a fast-paced, detail-driven position where your organisational skills and proactive approach will help maintain efficiency and compliance across critical supply chains.

Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with suppliers and internal teams, making a tangible difference to national security projects while developing your career in a dynamic environment.

  • Contacting suppliers via phone and email to confirm and expedite critical or overdue purchase orders
  • Completing order book reviews and managing allocated suppliers
  • Processing supplier proof of delivery (PODs) promptly to reduce receipt queries
  • Resolving invoice queries to comply with prompt payment policies and attending aged debt reviews
  • Using data, system capabilities, and best practice processes to maintain accuracy and efficiency

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based on site at Andover.

Essential experience of the Order Book Clerk
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel essential)
  • Basic knowledge of procurement and ERP systems
  • Experience in a telephone-based role, such as a call centre
