  • Use data and best practice processes to maintain accuracy and efficiency.

Job description

As an Order Book Clerk, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth flow of procurement activities that underpin our defence and engineering projects. This is a fast‑paced, detail‑driven position where your organisational skills and proactive approach will help maintain efficiency and compliance across critical supply chains. Day‑to‑day, you'll work closely with suppliers and internal teams, making a tangible difference to national security projects while developing your career in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities
  • Contacting suppliers via phone and email to confirm and expedite critical or overdue purchase orders
  • Completing order book reviews and managing allocated suppliers
  • Processing supplier proof of delivery (PODs) promptly to reduce receipt queries
  • Resolving invoice queries to comply with prompt payment policies and attending aged debt reviews
  • Using data, system capabilities, and best practice processes to maintain accuracy and efficiency

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based on site at Andover.

Qualifications
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel essential)
  • Basic knowledge of procurement and ERP systems
  • Experience in a telephone‑based role, such as a call centre

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) and Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
