Job summary

FDM is seeking a mid-level Oracle PL/SQL Developer to support the delivery and enhancement of financial services platforms. The role is hybrid and based in London or Edinburgh, with a focus on performance, stability, and production support.

You will work closely with delivery teams and client stakeholders to develop robust, scalable Oracle-based systems, contributing across the full SDLC and ensuring quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• 4+ years commercial experience as an Oracle PL/SQL Developer.
• Strong SQL and PL/SQL capability including complex queries and procedures.
• Experience supporting client-owned or production systems.
• Exposure to performance tuning concepts and SQL optimisation.
• Experience working in Agile or structured delivery environments.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Oracle PL/SQL development across the full SDLC from requirements to release and support.
• Build, enhance, and maintain PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, and complex SQL.
• Support production environments: incident investigation, root-cause analysis, fixes, releases.
• Analyse and improve database and application performance, including indexing and execution plans.
• Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes.
