A leading healthcare institution in London seeks an Optometry Education Coordinator to join its Education Team. This role involves coordinating clinical training programs and managing digital learning platforms. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Education Team at Moorfields Eye Hospital, an internationally renowned centre of excellence. The Optometry Education Coordinator will play a key role in delivering high-quality clinical and academic training. This includes postgraduate modules, CPD courses, student placements, and professional events.
You will lead the coordination of administrative processes that support external commercial programmes—helping to deliver structured training, assessments, and conferences. You'll also manage digital learning platforms (e.g. Moodle), student communications, and faculty support, while continuously improving systems through smarter, automated processes.
The successful candidate will work closely with clinicians, educators, researchers, and external partners to ensure the smooth planning and delivery of structured education.
Strong communication, digital, and organisational skills are essential, along with a flexible and solution‑focused approach. Occasional weekend work is required (approx. 4–5 times per year).

The education coordinator will be a key member of the Commercial Education team at Moorfields Eye Hospital, supporting the coordination and delivery of high‑quality clinical and academic programmes. The post holder will work closely with the Optometry department, the Education Manager and with clinicians, educators, students, and external partners to ensure effective delivery of training across a wide range of internal and external learning activities.
This role will involve building relationships with Moorfields staff such as course organisers, professional services such as marketing and finance and wider education teams. Additionally, the post holder will liaise with UCL staff, external suppliers and course sponsors.
This post is vital to the smooth running of the Commercial Optometry Education function, which delivers structured clinical training, CPD short courses, external conferences, and student placements.
The post holder will provide administrative coordination across the full learner journey—from onboarding and scheduling to assessments and evaluations. This includes creating and maintaining SOPs, supporting teaching logistics, managing virtual learning environments (e.g. Moodle), preparing assessment materials, and acting as a point of contact for both students and faculty.
A strong focus of the role will be on improving and documenting administrative processes and identifying opportunities for smarter, more automated ways of working using digital tools such as MS Teams, Excel, Power Automate, and MS Forms. The post holder will also support governance processes, such as Clinical Education Committee meetings, and contribute to audits and quality assurance reviews.
