Job summary

Specsavers Port Talbot invites an Optometrist to join its team. You will conduct eye examinations and contact lens services, delivering high-quality clinical care and excellent customer service in a welcoming store environment.

Open to newly qualified or experienced Optometrists registered with the GOC, with opportunities for professional development and leadership training that can progress toward store-director pathways.

Position: Optometrist

Location: Port Talbot, South West Wales

Salary: Up to £65,000 depending on experience plus up to £10,000 Golden Hello (terms apply)

Working Hours: Full and part-time working patterns considered

Requirements: Open to both newly qualified and experienced Optometrists who are registered with the GOC

You’ll need to demonstrate good attention to detail along with a passion for the community. Teamwork also forms a big part of our culture, so the ability to work well with others is essential.

Location

It may be best known for its giant smoking steelworks but Port Talbot proved to be Britain's property hot spot in 2021, figures show. The industrial town saw average house prices rise by 7.5% during 2019 - almost five times the national average.

Cheap seafront houses and removing the Severn bridge tolls helped fuel the rise, according to local estate agents.

There is a direct train station from Port Talbot to London's Paddington Station which takes a little over 2 1/2 hours and less than 20 minutes in to Swansea.
