Asda Stores Ltd is seeking a dedicated Optometrist in Colchester to join our Asda Opticians team. You will perform eye examinations, contact lens checks and extended services, working with our Dispensing Optician Manager to uphold high standards and drive patient care.

The role offers CPD opportunities, funded accreditation, and a comprehensive benefits package while supporting you to deliver a wide range of NHS services and develop your skills within a friendly retail healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified optometrist registered with the GOC.
• Registered performer with NHS MECs/WECs accreditation or willing to gain within 12 months (funded by us).
• On track to meet CPD points requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct eye examinations, contact lens checks and extended service exams.
• Support training and coaching with the Dispensing Optician Manager to maintain standards.
• Develop new patient services and contribute to departmental service delivery.

A typical day will involve completing eye examinations, contact lens and extended service examinations. You will be working alongside our Dispensing Optician Manager to support our colleagues with training, coaching and maintaining all our departmental standards. Due to our extended service contracts with the NHS, we're committed to delivering a wide range of care for the treatment and monitoring of eye conditions and will support you to gain any additional accreditations you may need to be able to deliver these services. At Asda, we are extremely passionate and committed to providing our Optometrists with all the training they will need to fulfil their role and enhance their skills. Not only do we have a fantastic CPD programme, but we also offer protected time to our Optometrists to complete further accreditations, funded by Asda. This ensures you have the full training package to meet the ever-changing eye care needs of our customers. It's all about developing and supporting you to reach your full potential. One optional opportunity for our GOC registered professionals is to supervise students - a rewarding way to support the next generation of optical professionals, while also enhancing your own skills and development. • A fully qualified optometrist registered with the GOC
• A registered performer with your NHS area team or health board MECs or WECs accredited (or willing to gain accreditation within 12 months of joining Asda - funded and supported by us)
• On track to meet the statutory points requirement for CPD
• Able to use your skills and passion for the role to deliver a memorable customer experience
• Passionate about developing new patient services and shaping the culture of the department
