Optimisation Software Engineer (CPLEX, Gurobi, Xpress) - Fully Remote - Up to £85k + Benefits

Our client, a FTSE 50 technology consultancy, is looking to hire an Optimisation Software Engineer to work on an innovative digital training program for the UK defence industry. This project has been ongoing for 2.5 years with guaranteed funding for the next 3 years, with plans for long-term continuation.

The project aims to replace an outdated paper-based system with a fully automated solution that delivers training courses to hundreds of thousands of employees.

The Optimisation Developer will be part of a team responsible for designing, developing, and testing this new schedule optimisation solution.

Requirements:

• At least 4 years of experience with CPLEX (considering Gurobi or Xpress)
• Background in mathematics (preferably degree level)
• Experience with linear programming and mixed-integer programming
• Knowledge of algorithms such as graph algorithms, approximation algorithms, heuristics, constraint programming, dynamic programming
• Performance tuning skills

The current team consists of 15 members, and they are looking to add 2 more developers.
