Job summary

CVI Infrared Optics, part of the IDEX MSS platform, is seeking an estimator to develop accurate cost estimates and compelling proposals that support profitable growth. You will collaborate with Commercial, Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing and Supply Chain to translate customer needs into technically compliant solutions.

The role focuses on evaluating requirements, pricing, risk assessment, and delivering results that improve quotation accuracy and win rates.

Qualifications

Degree qualified in an Engineering or STEM discipline.
Experience preparing technical quotations, proposals or cost estimates in a manufacturing/engineering environment.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.

Responsibilities

Review customer drawings, specs and technical docs to define scope and requirements.
Clarify requirements with customers and internal stakeholders to remove ambiguity.
Assess feasibility and compliance with customer specifications.
Identify technical, commercial and supply chain risks and suggest mitigations.
Develop accurate cost estimates for products, services and projects.
Lead quotation activities with cross-functional teams and supplier input.
Prepare clear technical and commercial proposals outlining costs and delivery.
Smooth handover from quotation to order fulfilment with engineering/manufacturing.
